Getting around: Guests can take the hotel courtesy shuttle to the airport, where for under $5 a BART light rail station offers service to points north, including San Francisco. SamTrams, the San Mateo County public transit bus, stops in front of the hotel and provides access to the surrounding area. Two miles from the hotel is the Broadway Station for CalTrain, a commuter train that runs between San Francisco to the north and Gilroy to the south. Guests who plan extensive local travel may prefer to rent a car, but BART is the best bet for travel into San Francisco because parking there is generally scarce and expensive.

What to expect: Although it's a large airport convention hotel, the Hyatt doesn’t feel impersonal. Rooms are built around a tropical atrium filled with trees, cascading water, and a terrace-top restaurant, and enclosed by a skylit domed roof. Conference attendees and individual business travelers relax with beers and baseball broadcasts at the historic sports bar, or under a palm tree at the outdoor pool and spa tub. Amenity highlights: This hotel piles on the business perks with complimentary wireless Internet access in guestrooms and throughout the hotel (older computers may require an adaptor card, available for a fee); and a full-service business center (fee). Insider tip: With Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) service, guests don't need a car to spend the day in the city. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to the airport BART station, and downtown San Francisco is approximately a 20-minute ride north.
